At Esperance Family Practice we understand that there are many contributing factors that affect your Family’s health. To that end, our practice team strive to provide a range of professional health services that you can really rely on. Our team have been working as Esperance doctors for at least 5 years, and some for more than 10 years.
Dr Nadette Hodge
MBBS (UWA), FRACGP, Diploma of Child Health.

Nadette was born in Perth, and spent most of her childhood years in the Pilbara mining town of Newman. She graduated from Newman Senior High School then studied Medicine at the University of Western Australia. Nadette always planned to return to the country and was able to do this while completing her General Practice Fellowship training.
During her training, Nadette worked in Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie, Busselton and Esperance. Nadette met her partner, Robert, when visiting Esperance and subsequently moved to the town to complete her GP training. The couple have a strong interest in travel and spent a few years overseas working in England and Ireland and then exploring South America on the way home. On returning to Esperance, Nadette worked as a GP for several years and has now joined Esperance Family Practice where she aspires to provide quality health care to both long standing and new patients.
Special Interests / Expertise
Nadette is actively involved in the local Equestrian Club and her daughter Layla is a member of Pony Club. The family is keen on travel and camping with regular trips to the beach for fishing and the bush for exploring.
Dr Emma Keeler

I have lived all over Australia, being born in Adelaide, growing up in Alice Springs and Darwin. My initial qualifications were in Economics and Science (4 years) at the Northern Territory University, after which I worked for the Treasury Department in Darwin for 4 years. It was at this point that I decided I wanted to become a doctor, thus moving to Brisbane to complete a Postgraduate Medical Degree (4 years). Upon completing my medical studies I took a job at Fremantle Hospital to be closer to my extended family in Perth and Esperance.
I then enjoyed working in a range of different hospital positions over the next few years before coming to Esperance in 2010 to try rural General Practice. Thankfully I had the amazing support of Dr Donald Howarth and was made very welcome by the medical and wider Esperance communities that led me to pursue a career as a rural General Practitioner.
I have since completed my training to become a fully qualified GP and continue to undertake ongoing medical education including completing a Diploma in Child Health in 2015. At the end of last year I was unsure where I was headed and took time out for travel. This helped me to realise that I have come to love working as a GP in Esperance and that living near my extended family.
In my down time I enjoy a range of activities, but love catching up with friends for coffee, reading novels and movies.
I am very excited to be back working in Esperance in our new rooms with our fabulous team.

Dr Dale Bosenberg

“Dale grew up in the Wheatbelt, and undertook training in Perth, Albany, Esperance and in regional Victoria (Wangaratta) before returning to Esperance with his wife Nikki and now three children. His training has included paediatrics, anaesthetics and emergency medicine, and currently continues to work in Esperance Health Campus in the emergency department and in anaesthetics.
He enjoys the variety that working in Esperance ensures, and is keen to provide a holistic service to his patients, aware of the isolation that comes from living so far from specialist services. He is proud of the calibre of our collective GP group in Esperance, and was quite eager to get back down here where he knew his family were going to be well cared for.

He’s a horrible brown thumb, but has many years ahead to remedy this and happy to talk compost at any time. If you have mastered how to grow plants well in Esperance conditions and keen to share, then anticipate your appointment going a bit longer…
Jayme Bergman (Physiotherapist)

Jayme was raised in Denmark WA among towering karri trees on a small farm and has always had an interest in health and science. She attended Denmark and then Albany Senior High School before earning a place at Curtin University to study Physiotherapy. Upon graduation the country life beckoned and a position at Esperance Hospital drew her back toward the Southern Ocean. For the past 12 years Jayme has been providing physiotherapy services at Esperance Hospital as well as through private enterprises to the local community. In 2010 a rural scholarship allowed her to complete a post graduate Masters of Manual Therapy through UWA which expanded and refined her clinical skills. Jayme has three beautiful children with her husband Enoch and enjoys swimming, playing hockey, running and camping anywhere out of phone range.
